Got the wrong inverter! What now?
Feb 17, 2025Recently, a comment on our social media post attracted my attention. It was a question of European buyers of solar energy storage systems who accidentally purchased a three-phase 380V hybrid inverter instead of the single-phase 230V model they needed, causing their system to fail. We have proposed our solution, and the inverter now is running smoothly.
The Fix:
We installed an AC distribution box between the inverter and the load, allowing the three-phase inverter to power multiple single-phase loads. Here’s how it works:
l Connect the three-phase inverter to the circuit breaker (A) via the UPS port.
l Link the circuit breaker (A) to three circuit breakers (B) using four busbars:
L1 → L1, L2 → L2, L3 → L3, the neutral wires from the breakers (B) are combined and connected to the neutral wire of the breaker (A).
l Connect three breakers (B) to the home loads separately.
Key Notes:
1. Each single-phase load must not exceed 6kW, and the total load must stay within the inverter’s capacity.
2. This solution works for systems under 20kW.
3. A three-phase inverter can power single-phase loads, but a single-phase inverter cannot support three-phase loads.
